"It certainly has been one of my favorite things to do over the last year I have been volunteering at the Bicycle Collective shop to grab a great old school roadie off the rack and refurbish it into good basic transportation for somebody."

E-mail Print PDF

  1. Jeff's close friends and neighbors have come together as a community to support him and his family’s fight with cancer by organizing a local fundraising event.  A silent auction and concert, featuring Afro Omega and Honest Soul, will be held at the State Room Saturday, April 30 starting at 7pm. Tickets are available @ thestateroomslc.com

  1. On top of the auction, a drawing will be held for a custom built, one-of-a-kind bicycle.  Intended to be a complete immersion into the custom bicycle scene, the winner will enjoy an all-expenses-paid trip to Portland, OR to meet with the builder, Tony Pereira, for a fitting and design consultation. This trip will include airfare, hotel, meals, and a bicycle tour—this is valued at over $10,000.  More details available at www.jeffbatesmf.org.

  1. Many local businesses have contributed—and we encourage you to consider helping Jeff and his family as well. At our website, www.jeffbatesmf.org, you will find information about participating donors, and we would be happy to list you as a sponsor of our event.  Donors are plugged on the Jeff Bates Melanoma Foundation Facebook page (currently 230 active weekly users) to spread the buzz about area businesses willing to step up and assist Jeff and his family in this difficult time.

  1. Please consider supporting our cause by either attending the concert and silent auction, or by making a donation of goods, services, etc.  Monetary donations can be made as well by credit card or check at www.jeffbatesmf.org.

  1. Please fill out the donor information sheet to make sure we give your business a shout of recognition for supporting Jeff and our local community.

  1. We can provide a tax deductible receipt if necessary, via. the Salt Lake City Bicycle Collective a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization.

  1. All of the funds generated will be gifted directly to Jeff and his immediate family to help pay for medical bills and expenses related to their fight with cancer.  In addition to financial support, the event is also meant to inspire Jeff and his family with the emotional support to preserver in their effort to beat cancer.
