Donate a Car, Truck, Motorcycle or Boat

In the context of people who ride bikes and people who drive cars, the terms motorist and cyclist can create a false "us vs. them" attitude that divides us. The reality is that not all, but most people have a bike hanging in their garage next to a car, or a car in their garage next to their bike. Regardless of how you look at it, the only difference is which one collects more dust.
Since the beginning of the Bicycle Collective, we have always traded tax write-offs for dusty bicycles -- now we have the ability to collect your dusty cars too!
Unlike bikes, we CAN pick these up! Thanks to the kinds folks at Vehicles for Charity, the Bicycle Collective gets 70% of the value of the vehicle.

Slatwall
In an effort to revamp our shop, if you have extra or are getting rid of Slat Wall, we would love to take it off your hands. Please contact us.
Elastomeric Roof Coating

The Community Bike Shop has a flat black roof, which means the swamp cooler is just sucking the hot air off the roof and shooting it down into the shop with the added bonus of humidity. We are sweating to death!
If we can paint the roof white, it will significantly reduce how hot the roof gets and lower the temperature inside. So if you have any of the white elastomeric roof coating material that you are willing to donate, please let us know.

LCD Monitors
Contact us if you have LCD Monitors that need a good home and if you need a tax writeoff. We don't need anything fancy, just small to accomodate our humble office, the old CRT Monitors are too big.
We could use:
- LCD / flatscreen computer Monitors
Office Chair Floor Mats
Contact us if you have office chair floor mats (for a bare floor, not carpet) that need a good home. Volunteers did a wonderful job grinding, staining, and sealing the office floor and we would like to see how long we can keep it looking amazing!
We could use:
- 4 office chair floor mats for our 4 lovely staff members.
Old T-Shirts
We cut old t-shirts into smaller pieces and use them as shop rags. So if you (or someone you love) has an old t-shirt that absolutely needs to go, give them a final wash a bring them down to the Community Bike Shop.
Tooth brushes
This may seem like a strange think to donate, but we use old tooth brushes to clean bike parts and chains. In case you are wondering, the cleaner we use can kill just about every germ in the book.
Tools
We are ALWAYS looking for tools, especially bike tools, however that is not exclusive. If you, someone you know, or you see a bike shop going out of business or have some tools you are willing to donate -- let us know! Contact us here
Bikes & Parts
As part of our on going Bicycle Recycling project we are in constant need of volunteer mechanics, bicycles (especially childrens bicycles), and bicycle parts of all types. Donated bikes are also eligible as a tax write-off. To donate a bike or parts, bring them down to the community bike shop during the open shop hours. Your donated bike will be refurbished by volunteer mechanics for release back into the community either as a gift to a charitable cause or sold for a nominal fee.
